    Is parking free at Surfside Beach? +

    Street parking along Ocean Boulevard and near beach access points is free year-round. A paid lot is available near the pier during peak season. Arrive early on summer weekends — spots fill up by mid-morning.

    Are dogs allowed on the beach? +

    Yes! Dogs are welcome from sunrise to 9:00 AM and again from 5:00 PM to sunset during the summer season. Dogs must be leashed at all times and owners are responsible for cleanup.

    How do I reserve a beach wheelchair? +

    Beach wheelchairs are free for visitors with mobility needs. Reserve in advance through the Town, or pick one up at designated access points during staffed hours (typically 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM in season).

    Can I set up a tent or canopy on the beach? +

    Small shade tents and pop-up canopies are permitted. Structures may not exceed 10x10 feet and must be placed behind the wet sand line. Large event canopies require a permit. All structures must be removed at the end of each day.

    Is alcohol allowed on the beach? +

    Open containers of alcohol are not permitted on the beach. Glass containers of any kind are prohibited on the beach and boardwalk areas at all times.

    Since 2016, Surfside Beach has been one of the nation's first certified Autism-Friendly beaches — trained staff, sensory-friendly accommodations, designated quiet zones, and a community-wide commitment to inclusive experiences.
