DESCRIPTION:Join us for our 2nd Annual Fishing With A Cop day! On April 18th from 9 AM – 1 PM\, for children 12 years and under. Organized by Officer Chase O’Dell.  Co-hosted by the Surfside Beach Police Department\, Drippy’s Homemade Ice Cream\, Perry’s Bait & Tackle Shop\, and The Town of Surfside Beach\, SC. \nFree bait and fishing rods will be provided to those who need them\, and prizes will be awarded to tournament winners. Each participant will also receive free ice cream from Drippy’s Ice Cream and free bait from Perry’s Bait & Tackle Shop on the pier. Our local Surfside police officers and fishing captains will be on site to help young anglers. DESCRIPTION:9/11 Memorial Stair Climb\nDate: September 11\, 2025\nTime: 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.\nCheck-in opens at 7:00 a.m.\nThe Official Climb begins at 8:00 a.m. \nLocation: Surfside Beach Fishing Pier \nThe Town of Surfside Beach and the Surfside Beach Fire Department would like to invite everyone to pay tribute to the public safety members who lost their lives on 9/11/2001.  \nWe will host our inaugural “9/11 Memorial Stair Climb” on September 11th\, 2025\, at 8:00 a.m.\nWe invite participants to climb the monumental stairs of The Surfside Beach Fishing Pier 26 times (up & down)\, representing the 2\,200 stairs climbed by many first responders on September 11th at the World Trade Center. This event is free to participate in. \nIf you are a firefighter or police officer\, we encourage you to wear protective gear while climbing the stairs. Those who wish to simulate the weight of the protective gear can use a weighted vest. The typical additional weight of the protective gear and equipment carried by the firefighters is 90 pounds.\nWe will have air packs available for firefighters to wear\, not to breathe from\, on a first-come\, first-served basis.\nIf you are interested and plan to attend\, please click the link below to sign up.
